Seen to be Green – Lincoln City Football Club

Lincoln City Football Club seen to be green with Ellgia Recycling.

Lincoln City, also known as The Imps compete in league 1 at their 10,120 capacity ground at Sincil Bank. Known as the Imps after the legend of the Lincoln Imp, they generate around 20 cubic metres of waste every week from fans about enough to fill one of our Roll off containers.

They were looking for a new reliable waste and recycling partner that could work with their collection schedule between games and training matches.

LIncs City going green with Ellgia Recycling

“We want to work towards a better environment, yes we have a lot of waste due to the amount of drink and food that is consumed from our catering points, but we want to ensure that all goes to recycling as far as possible.”

Alan Welsh, Stadium Manager

Ellgia Recycling are one of the leading waste management, recycling and skip hire businesses across Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and East Anglia. They have invested heavily in their site in Scunthorpe in the machinery and processes to ensure that all materials are recycled or reused working towards a target of “Zero to Landfill”.

Conclusion

The Imps move to Ellgia Recycling is one of a number of green initiatives at the club such as a green compost bin for the grass cuttings at Sincil Bank and the training ground and the Imp bins that are in place on the route from the City Centre for the fans to use before and after the game.
