The Development Team is made up of former players and those progressing from youth rugby to senior rugby at the club.
This new venture for Ellgia was launched at a dinner and fundraiser, where more than £9,000 was raised for the club. Former England international player Will Greenwood hosted the launch and lent his support to the newly-created squad.
Mick Clarke, from Royston Rugby Club, said: “We’re really grateful to all the guys at Ellgia for their support. We identified an area of much-needed development in the club and Ellgia’s sponsorship is really important to help the Club and players grow and will mean so much to all our members.”
“Our relationship with Ellgia goes back some years now and we’re looking forward to this new chapter with the business, which will open opportunities for so many of our talented young players.”
Jack Lavington, Operations Director at Ellgia Recycling, said: “Community initiatives are really important to us and we’re all committed sports fans here at Ellgia too. We’re excited to be teaming up with Royston Rugby Club to create the Ellgia Development Team which we know will make a big difference to area.
