The White Pheasant in Fordham has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the region’s finest restaurants.
Here they explain why they chose Ellgia Recycling.
Gary Holland, joint owner of The White Pheasant with his son and head chef Calvin, said: “Being a green hospitality business we need a reliable, a sustainable, high-quality waste and recycling collection service to support us.
“We’ve known of Ellgia for a while and we know they support the local community by providing recycling services to many other businesses in the area. Being a leading local restaurant, we were looking for ways of improving our recycling as previously we had only used general waste and cardboard collection services from another operator. What we needed was a company to help us recycle much more – including peelings, glass and mixed recycling.
“Ellgia were able to offer the addition of food, mixed recycling and glass services, which our previous contractor could not do. They also supplied smaller bins, which were easier to move on our gravel driveway.
“Ellgia are very efficient when we contact them – our emails are answered in minutes and arranging extra pick-ups during busy periods have been no problem for them.
“We had an initial review which gave Ellgia the chance to offer a more sustainable option and we discussed introducing more recycling services including the glass, food and mixed recycling then reducing the general waste. This has worked for us and helped us recycled more. Before we took up their service, we were used to throwing lots away in the general waste. Now using the recycling bins is second nature to us.
